Role Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior revenues professional to lead the delivery of high-performing Council Tax, Business Rates and Benefits services, ensuring statutory compliance, effective income collection and continuous service improvement.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee operational performance, manage service delivery and provide strategic support across revenues, benefits and debt recovery functions while leading and developing high-performing teams.

What You''ll Do as a Senior Revenues & Benefits Manager

·Lead the delivery of Council Tax, Business Rates and Benefits services, ensuring compliance with legislation and Council policies.
·Oversee income collection, debt recovery and payment arrangements, ensuring robust governance and effective performance management.
·Manage and develop Revenues Team Managers and operational teams, driving continuous improvement and maintaining high service standards.
·Support the implementation of Government initiatives, discretionary schemes and legislative changes affecting revenues and benefits services.
·Produce management information, statutory returns and performance reports while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, Government bodies and external partners.

What You''ll Need as a Senior Revenues & Benefits Manager

·Significant experience managing Revenues and Benefits services within a Local Authority environment.
·Strong knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefits and associated legislation.
·Proven experience leading teams, managing operational performance and delivering service improvements.
·Experience overseeing debt recovery processes, statutory returns and financial governance.
·Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex legislation.
