Overview
The Radiology Service is an integral part of the patient pathway at Moorfields and pivotal to our clinical services. The Senior Radiographer will be an active member of the Radiology Department in delivering first class care to our patients, who are referred both internally and externally to the organisation.As a Radiographer you will work as part of a multi-professional team. The role involves using a range of highly specialised radiological equipment to perform X-Rays, Computed Tomography (CT) and Dacrocystogram scans. This enables clinicians to make important decisions in the care and treatment of our patients.Responsibilities
Produce high quality X-Rays, CT and Dacrocystogram scans in line with departmental protocols. Experience of working autonomously is essential.Deputise for the Head of Radiology in their absence and supervise other staff within the service.Act as a Radiation Protection Supervisor for the service to ensure compliance with IR(ME)R 2017.Undertake clerical tasks to ensure a smooth patient pathway.Attend relevant meetings as part of service delivery.Qualifications and Requirements
EssentialBSc Hons or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography3 years extensive post-qualification experience in Neuro CTMinimum 2 years’ experience in X-Ray and Fluoroscopic techniquesCompetent in IV cannulation1 year of supervising staffExperience of working autonomously in a busy clinic environmentKnowledge of radiation protection complianceDesirableEvident commitment to CPDRegistration and Compliance
