Senior Quantity Surveyor

Elvet Recruitment has been appointed to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a well established residential developer based in County Durham.

You will take full responsibility for the commercial delivery of housing developments across the region. Your work will span budgeting, cost control, subcontractor management and financial reporting, ensuring each project is delivered efficiently and profitably.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare draft and site start budgets for allocated developments
• Produce quarterly valuations and material cost to complete exercises
• Manage subcontractor payments and final accounts with full sign off
• Issue subcontract orders in line with company policy and documentation standards
• Carry out on site measurements and assess contractor payments
• Attend and contribute to meetings with internal teams and external contractors
• Monitor subcontractor performance and maintain trade specifications
• Price customer extras and liaise with the sales team as required
• Manage the Professional Fees Budget and support material procurement
• Provide take offs and cost input for land appraisals

About you

• You will bring proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within residential construction, along with:
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with COINS ERP software is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Xpedeon and Viewpoint or 4Projects is an advantage
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage your own workload while contributing to wider team goals
• A solid understanding of surveying, estimating and financial return strategies
• Experience with cost reporting, procure to pay systems and document management
