Senior Quantity Surveyor (Freelance) - Energy / Overhead Lines (OHL)

Location: Bristol/Taunton
Rate: -550 per day
Duration: 6-month contract

TRIbuild Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a leading energy infrastructure client for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a commercial team supporting overhead line (OHL) energy projects across the Bristol/Taunton region. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior QS with strong energy or utilities sector experience to take a lead commercial role across a live project portfolio.

The Role

• Lead the preparation of reports, claims, and commercial documentation within agreed timescales
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers
• Monitor project risks, maintain risk registers, and oversee subcontractor/supplier management including quotations, valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts
• Manage compensation events, contract costs, and project profitability
• Identify and manage variations, delays, and claims
• Drive financial reporting, forecasting, and process improvements
• Attend project meetings and maintain commercial records and manuals
• Work closely with commercial and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies
• Undertake additional duties as required to support business and customer needs

What We''re Looking For

• Substantial Quantity Surveying experience, ideally within the energy, utilities, or OHL sector
• Strong understanding of NEC or similar contract forms, including compensation events
• Proven track record managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, and final accounts
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working across the Bristol/Taunton region

• Day rate: -550 (negotiable depending on experience)
• Duration: 6 months
