Senior / Principal Drainage & Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: -40,000 -65,000PA DOE

About the Role
Position 1 Recruitment are working with a successful engineering consultancy, who are looking for an experienced Senior / Principal Drainage & Infrastructure Engineer to join the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor project teams delivering drainage and infrastructure schemes from concept through to detailed design.
- Prepare and review drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, highway designs, levels designs, calculations, drawings and specifications.
- Manage projects and ensure schemes are delivered to agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Agree design principles and provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare fee proposals and assist with project costings.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
- Undertake occasional site inspections and provide technical support where required.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities and external consultants to coordinate projects effectively.
- Ensure project information is accurate and delivered within agreed deadlines.
About You
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years'' experience in drainage and infrastructure design.
- Strong experience in drainage strategies, drainage design and infrastructure schemes.
- Knowledge of S38, S278, S104, S106 and S185 agreements.
- Experience with flood risk assessments and drainage strategies.
- Practical experience integrating SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) into development projects.
- Experience working on highway and private-development infrastructure schemes.
- Knowledge of highway alignments, crossfalls and visibility splays to adoptable standards.
- Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS and MicroDrainage/FLOW.
- Ideally, you will be Chartered or working towards chartership with ICE or another relevant professional institution.
