Due to maternity leave, we''re offering 2 roles for experienced Paediatric Audiologists to join the Audiology Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The post provides an excellent opportunity to develop your experience in complex and advanced Paediatric Audiology in a unique setting. You will carry out general Audiology assessments and receive training in complex assessment processes such as APD, BAHA, Microsuction, Vestibular, and Electrophysiological testing (service need dependent). The department has close links to the Cochlear Implant team, offering potential exposure, and there may be opportunities to see private patients as part of the department rotation for Senior Audiologists (service requirement permitting). There are many opportunities for learning and professional development with our unique patient population and excellent CPD opportunities (Internal and External).You will be expected to oversee the management or act as Point of Contact (POC) for a clinical area in conjunction with Band 8 colleagues, alongside line management responsibilities. Research and project management experience is desirable, with several active studies ongoing. Candidates must have a minimum of a BSc in Audiology or equivalent, be HCPC (clinical scientist) / AHCS registered, and possess post-qualification paediatric experience.Fixed term end date: 5th October 2026Main duties of the job
The postholder will perform a combination of clerical and clinical duties without supervision.Perform diagnostic audiological assessments to assist in the evaluation of hearing disorders.Modify, where necessary, diagnostic assessments on children of varying ages, including those with syndromes, developmental delays, challenging behaviour, communication difficulties, and physical impairments, to obtain reliable information.Monitor and update audiological protocols within the Audiology Department in liaison with the Lead Audiologist.Develop plans for improving Audiology services.Promote a learning environment within the department to encourage staff training and development.Working for our organisation
