This maternity leave cover is for 12 months from October 2025 to September 2026 and offers a chance to work within a large, friendly, and clinically leading paediatric audiology team.The role is primarily clinical with opportunities to develop within a supportive team that continually strives to improve paediatric hearing care.Responsibilities
Lead and assist on behavioural hearing assessment clinics for children aged 6 months and above.Carry out new paediatric hearing aid fittings and routine hearing aid reviews.Contribute to service development initiatives within the paediatric audiology team.Collaborate with colleagues across main and satellite sites to deliver high-quality care.Site details and hours
Monthly sites include: St Thomas\''s Hospital (main site) and satellite clinics at Gracefield Gardens (Lambeth), Sunshine House (Southwark), and Kaleidoscope (Lewisham).The clinical team generally works compressed hours (08:00–18:00) across 4 days. The post holder is typically based at St Thomas\''s 2–3 days per week and at a satellite clinic 1–2 days per week.Organisation and service
The Children and Young People\''s Audiology Centre at St Thomas\''s Hospital is a UKAS accredited medical diagnostic service No. 9980 and provides a comprehensive service for children in South East London and Croydon. The centre has developed the Hummingbird Clinic for autistic and complex needs children and has been involved in national and international research projects.Contact for details
