Senior Mechanical Estimator

Overview

An established and growing MEP contractor is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join its pre-construction team in Central London. The business operates across a diverse portfolio of projects including major infrastructure, commercial developments, rail and technically complex MEP schemes, with project values ranging from -1m to -100m+.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of high-value tenders, work closely with senior leadership, and play a key role in securing major projects across London and the South East.

• Lead the preparation of detailed mechanical cost estimates from first principles for large-scale MEP projects
• Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications, identifying risks, gaps and opportunities
• Manage the full tender process including enquiry packages, supply chain engagement and bid submissions
• Analyse and level subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure compliance and commercial accuracy
• Develop value engineering solutions and alternative proposals to enhance competitiveness
• Collaborate with design, commercial and delivery teams to ensure buildable and cost-effective solutions
• Produce tender clarifications, assumptions and risk registers
• Attend and contribute to client meetings, bid reviews and post-tender negotiations
• Support junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement within the pre-construction function
