Senior Mechanical EngineerLocation: Chorley (4-day working week) Rate: Up to 57 per hour, Outside IR35 Contract: 12 months Start: ASAP We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer for a 12-month contract supporting engineering design activities within a highly regulated engineering environment. This role will involve developing and substantiating mechanical design solutions from concept through to detailed design, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards and nuclear safety requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop concept, scheme and detailed mechanical designs, including 3D models, engineering drawings and technical documentation.Produce design risk assessments, support engineering calculations and work closely with stress engineers to substantiate designs.Develop technical files and support CE Marking / UKCA conformity assessments.Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, codes and standards, including the Machinery Directive, PUWER, LOLER and CDM.Participate in design reviews, verification and validation activities, ensuring quality and compliance throughout the design lifecycle.Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and support designs through manufacture, assembly, testing and commissioning.Essential ExperienceSignificant mechanical design engineering experience within a complex engineering environment, ideally nuclear, defence or other highly regulated industries.Experience with gloveboxes and associated ..... full job details .....
