Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - London Up to 70,000 Permanent Annual bonus of 5-10% Car Allowance Travel to and from office paid for Four days in-office, Fridays from home A well-established MandE contractor is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing in-house design team in London. Unlike a traditional consultancy role, you''ll work alongside the construction, BIM, commercial and delivery teams, so you can see your designs built rather than stopping at the drawing stage. The Role You''ll take ownership of the mechanical design on office and commercial fit-out projects, developing it through RIBA Stages 2 to 5. You''ll be involved from early design reviews and tender support through to detailed design, coordination and construction. Your responsibilities will include: Designing heating, cooling, ventilation and public health systems for Design and Build projects. Carrying out mechanical calculations, equipment selection and system sizing. Reviewing consultant designs, spotting technical and buildability issues, and taking them through detailed design and construction. Producing coordinated, compliant and cost-effective solutions, working closely with BIM and digital construction teams and aligning with electrical and architectural requirements. Reviewing technical submissions, specifications and drawings. Supporting Design Managers and project teams, and attending design meetings with clients, consultants and contractors.
