Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client, an engineering organisation in Tyne and Wear, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead end-to-end mechanical design of electromechanical products - from clean-sheet concept through prototype build/test and release into production.Please note: no visa sponsorship available.What you''ll be doingOwning mechanical design for rotating equipment / drivetrain-style assembliesLeading concept development, prototyping, validation and test supportDelivering engineering analysis (hand calcs + CAE) with a focus on reliability/durabilityProducing 3D CAD and 2D drawings, supporting release to manufactureApplying DFM/DFA and DFMEA/PFMEAWorking closely with manufacturing/test teams, plus supplier managementMentoring junior engineersWhat we''re looking forStrong 3D CAD + 2D drawing capability (any major CAD package)Experience with engineering analysis / CAEPractical background in DFM and supporting builds/testingSome supplier management exposureMechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent experience)Nice to haveInventor / SolidWorks, MASTA / KISSsoftHigh-volume manufacturing and/or casting designGears/transmissions/bearings knowledge and related calculationsWhat''s on offerHybrid workingDevelopment and progression opportunitiesSupportive, collaborative engineering cultureFull benefits ..... full job details .....
