The London Borough of Hackney is seeking a Senior Information Officer to lead on data protection, information requests, and team supervision within Children and Families Services.In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring data integrity, statutory compliance, and safe information sharing to support the well-being of children and families across the borough.Key ResponsibilitiesInformation Requests: Oversee and process complex, sensitive Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, ensuring full statutory compliance.Leadership and Line Management: Supervise and mentor a team of up to 4 Information Officers, managing performance, appraisals, and day-to-day guidance.Data Protection and Governance: Serve as the lead on data protection policies, GDPR, and the Data Protection Act for the directorate, providing expert guidance to colleagues and managers.Data Security and Systems: Proactively manage system data integrity and collaborate with ICT to ensure robust security and accurate statutory reporting.Innovation and Process Improvement: Research, pilot, and champion new functionality and tech tools (including AI) to streamline workflows and enhance customer experience.
