Senior Financial Accountant

Are you a CCAB qualified accountant with a passion for making a difference? We have a 6-month opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team, backfilling a team member and supporting the delivery of several organisational projects and initiatives About the role As a Senior Financial Accountant, you''ll work closely with the Financial Accountancy Manager and team to provide technical accounting support. You''ll work in a variety of areas covering our balance sheet and statement of financial activities, which could include charity or commercial income recognition, investments, cashflow, VAT, reconciliations and support various finance projects across the organisation. Key responsibilities include: Complex technical accounting and balance sheet reconciliations. Contributing to financial control functions, including supplier payments and month-end processes. Providing technical advice to non-finance staff and support BHF project activities. Supporting with our finance systems transformation project. Supporting with the interim external audit. Ad hoc support as required such as quarterly VAT preparation and SORP 2026 transition work. About you We are looking for a CCAB or equivalent qualified accountant. You''ll have relevant experience in the not-for-profit sector, including knowledge of Charity SORP and charity tax.
