London and Birmingham£45- 48k plus excellent benefitsOur client, a global consultancy offering advice to the built environment, are seeking to appoint a key Environmental Planner to join their London or Birmingham offices.As the group continues to go from strength to strength, they are keen to expand their Environmental Planning offering within the team. The Environmental Planning Team forms part of the Planning, Development and Regeneration business, providing complimentary services to the group’s master-planning and town-planning commissions throughout the UK, as well as supporting other parts of the group. Their services include Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA); environmental constraints and opportunities planning at the site feasibility and master-planning stages of a project; and high-level strategic environmental planning advice for complex situations at all stages of the development life-cycle.The team works across the UK in a diverse range of areas, including Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Hospitality, Energy and the Arts. They have schemes currently under way across the country, including three major redevelopments that incorporate housing, entertainment and leisure—viewed as ground-breaking.The expanded Environmental Planning Team’s responsibilities include the delivery of a range of complex and large-scale projects.Responsibilities include: management and delivery of projects, quality assurance and sign-off of deliverables, client management and project financial management, as well as business development exposure and expertise in some form. Additional focus areas include marketing and networking; team management and mentoring; product development and innovation; operational management; and contribution to business strategy.For the role, you will be experienced in the Environmental Planning sector with broad knowledge of environmental disciplines, and expert knowledge and practical experience of dealing with the UK planning system and the relevant EIA Regulations, particularly for property and infrastructure projects.A Chartered Environmental Engineer/Scientist is beneficial but not essential, provided you have an excellent understanding of environmental topic areas and the UK planning system; extensive experience implementing the EIA Regulations at all stages of the EIA process; experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams; experience managing project stakeholders; project management experience including financial monitoring and management; and excellent written skills with specific experience authoring EIA Screening reports/requests, EIA Scoping reports/requests, Environmental Statements (ESs) and other related deliverables, with responsibility for signing off and ensuring quality assurance.
