Senior Environmental Crime Officer, part of the National Investigations Team within the National Environmental Crime Unit. You will work with Senior Investigation Managers and our Major Incident Room to lead investigations into serious and complex environmental crimes, coordinating all aspects of the investigations from identifying lines of enquiry to casefile preparation and prosecution.Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate major environmental crime investigations, including planning, evidence gathering, interviews, and casefile preparation for prosecution.Identify lines of enquiry, review intelligence, raise and allocate actions, and drive investigations forward.Collaborate with Partnership Organisations and develop investigative teams and complex investigations.Work with the Major Incident Room to manage investigations into Organised Crime Groups, illegal waste exports, and large-scale fraud.Contribute to developing the team and improving investigative processes; participate in incident response and business continuity as needed.Experience/Skills Required
Strong investigative background with highAttention to detail, self-motivation, and good communication skills.Knowledge of investigative legislation such as PACE and CPIA; basic IT competency (Word, Excel, Teams).Experience with environmental crime, leading serious criminal investigations, and Major Incident Room workings desirable.Proven ability to lead, drive, and develop investigation teams; proactive problem solving and initiative use.Successful completion of SC and NPPV2 vetting within the 6-month probationary period; full driving licence required.Role requirements
