Senior Electrical Design Engineer Based in Bedfordshire Salary from 50,000 to 62,000 (DOE) + 4-day working week, Bonus, Pension If you''re looking for a role where you will own the design, from the first trade study to the moment the customer signs it off, keep reading. You will take ownership of electrical and electronic subsystems for defence platforms built to survive harsh environments. Sometimes that means bespoke design, sometimes it means pulling together the right COTS parts into a solution that is robust, compliant and actually buildable. Low and high-power DC systems, wiring harnesses, circuit protection, the lot. You will work to a structured phase-gate process, shaping the functional and physical requirements that hold an integrated design together, then proving it. That means derating, stress and tolerance analysis, EMC thinking at product and circuit level, and getting hands-on in the lab to test, debug and evaluate your designs through assembly, integration and test. You will write the documentation that goes with it, trade studies, requirements, compliance evidence and test reports, and you will be using Zuken, Harnware and Windchill, or tools like them, to do it.
