The Opportunity We are currently seeking two experienced Senior EC&I Engineers to support a major project based in Renfrew, Scotland. Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will provide technical expertise across Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) systems, supporting the design, construction and commissioning of complex machinery and engineering packages.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project within a highly regulated environment, delivering innovative engineering solutions while supporting project delivery from concept through to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver EC&I design packages to support construction and commissioning activities.
  • Develop key engineering deliverables, including Control System Specifications, Cause & Effect Charts, Datasheets and Technical Requisitions.
  • Review and check EC&I design documentation, including cable block diagrams, cable routing diagrams, cable schedules and termination diagrams.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve technical issues, raising queries with project stakeholders where necessary.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex engineering challenges and communicate solutions effectively to clients and project teams.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and support the resolution of any identified issues.
  • Attend multi-discipline design reviews and contribute specialist EC&I expertise.
  • Support LV electrical power design activities where required.
  • Provide engineering support throughout construction, installation and commissioning phases.
  • Assist with project delivery activities and undertake additional duties as required by the EC&I Lead Engineer.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Degree qualified (BSc/BEng) in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years'' experience in EC&I design, construction and commissioning environments.
  • Strong understanding of Electrical, Control and Instrumentation engineering principles.
  • Experience with PLC, SCADA, Motion Control and Servo systems.
  • Experience delivering control system upgrade projects.
  • Proven experience commissioning MCCs and control system cabinets.
  • Construction and commissioning site experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
  • T-V SIS Functional Safety qualification.
  • Experience with Motion Control and Servo applications.
  • Previous experience within the nuclear sector or other highly regulated industries, such as defence, energy, pharmaceuticals, petrochemical or oil & gas.
