Senior Design Engineer

From prototype to production for a range of defence projects This small team of highly accomplished engineers are working at the cutting-edge of the defence industry, developing a whole new approach to defence systems based on adaptability. Their systems learn in response to emerging threats, able to change without needing to be returned to base or reprogrammed. They are currently developing anti-drone and electronic warfare devices and believe their unique design philosophy is applicable to a great many areas. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be taking ideas from prototype to production. This is very much a hands-on role working with colleagues in mechanical, electronics and software engineering. Your ability to quickly understand problems and iteratively develop solutions using CAD and their on-site workshop are key. Often deployed on the battlefield, the products you ll design need to be durable, and easy to manufacture. You will have a background in engineering and held similar positions in the past (although not necessarily in the defence industry). You will be highly proficient with CAD software and comfortable in a workshop using additive manufacturing (3D printing) as well as standard machining tools. While you will probably have a speciality in either mechanical or electronics engineering, you will be comfortable helping with either. Academically, you will have a degree in a STEM subject.
