Senior Design Manager

Client Information

Our client is a leading UK main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality industrial and commercial developments across the country. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Design Manager to lead the design delivery of a flagship 40m industrial development in Cambridge.

The successful candidate will be based from the company''s Head Office in Solihull, with regular travel to the Cambridge project. Travel expenses and lodging will be provided where required.

Salary: -85,000 - -98,000 + Competitive Package

• Lead the design management process from pre-construction through to project completion.

• Manage and coordinate architects, consultants, subcontractors and client design teams.

• Ensure design information is delivered on programme to support construction activities.

• Chair design meetings and manage stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.

• Identify, manage and mitigate design risks while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and employer requirements.

• Work collaboratively with commercial, planning and site teams to deliver successful project outcomes.

• Drive value engineering opportunities without compromising quality or programme.

• Support the delivery of industrial projects ranging from -10m to -150m.

• Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager working for a UK main contractor.

• Experience delivering large-scale industrial, logistics or commercial construction projects.

• Strong knowledge of design management processes, Building Regulations and construction methodologies.

• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.

• Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent).

• Full UK Driving Licence.

• Willingness to travel to Cambridge and stay away from home when required.

• Salary between -85,000 and -98,000 depending on experience.
