Senior Dam & Reservoir Consultant

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Dams & Reservoirs Engineer at Associate Director level to take a technical leadership role across complex reservoir, dam and hydraulic structures projects.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering practice, you''ll lead technical design delivery, manage engineering teams and take responsibility for high-quality design outputs across reservoir safety improvement works and major water projects.

This is an initial 12-month contract, working 37.5 hours per week, with three days per week required in Surrey.

The Role

You''ll be involved in:

• Leading engineers and scientists delivering complex dams, reservoirs and hydraulic structures projects
• Leading the development of reservoir design deliverables across multidisciplinary projects
• Managing technical delivery against project programmes, budgets and key milestones
• Managing, reviewing and approving design reports, drawings, calculations and scopes of work
• Providing technical leadership across dams, reservoirs and hydraulic structures engineering
• Supporting reservoir safety improvement works and new-build schemes
• Working across earth and concrete dams, weirs and other hydraulic structures
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members
• Advising clients and project teams on complex engineering challenges
• Supporting technical aspects of bids and proposals
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and internationally
• Helping develop engineering capability and best practice across the wider team

What They''re Looking For

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered Civil Engineer
• Extensive dams, reservoirs and hydraulic structures experience
• Demonstrable experience leading the design of reservoir safety improvement works
• Proven experience leading large-scale engineering design delivery within a consultancy
• Strong multidisciplinary design leadership experience
• In-depth knowledge of earth and concrete dams, weirs and hydraulic structures
• Experience considering access, constructability and construction logistics
• Expert knowledge of relevant design codes, standards and industry best practice
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations
• Excellent technical leadership and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills
• Water sector experience is essential
