An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Digital Services team at Croydon University Hospital as a Senior Contracts Manager on a 12-month maternity cover. This pivotal role will act as the lead within Digital Services, with responsibility for a wide range of strategic and operational activities. The postholder will drive business development by ensuring a comprehensive digital Procurement Plan is created, implemented, and maintained. They will work closely with colleagues across the digital portfolio, digital services, cyber security, and CXIO teams to identify and manage a robust pipeline of procurement activity for the Trust.
Responsibilities
Lead the Digital Services procurement function and deliver a comprehensive digital Procurement Plan, ensuring it is created, implemented, and maintained.
Develop partnerships with external stakeholders (e.g., South West London Integrated Care digital team, One Croydon Alliance, Acute Provider Collaborative) and manage third-party contracts and licensing for digital systems.
Develop and maintain Service Level Agreements outlining IT services to third parties; review and set digital tariffs; provide input into software audits, budget planning, cost management, and forecasting.
Manage FOI responses, maintain asset/contracts register, and oversee purchase orders and invoice management.
Ensure compliance with the Trust’s Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions across all matters related to Digital Services.
Lead the development, maintenance and monitoring of the IT Service Catalogue in partnership with the Deputy Director of Digital Services; ensure tariffs for all support areas are in place and updated regularly.
Provide guidance and support to senior IT managers to deliver services, manage solutions, and fulfil service area requirements.
Act as a subject matter expert in software licensing (including Microsoft products) and manage contracts currently in place, to be retired, or introduced.
Drive process, contract, and financial efficiencies across contracts and licenses in collaboration with procurement, finance and other departments.
Ensure compliance with information governance requirements and regulatory standards (e.g., NHSE) as applicable to contracts and licensing.
Ensure the post holder maintains the contract/information systems register and ensures full information sets to meet contractual, financial, NHSE and other mandated requirements, including cyber security compliance (e.g., Cyber Essentials+).
Work with senior IT managers to advise, guide, and support service areas in contracting and procurement decisions.
Qualifications and Skills
Extensive experience in procurement and contract management, particularly within digital/IT services and software licensing.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities with external partners and internal teams.
Knowledge of cyber security considerations, IT service catalogs, IT tariffs, and budget forecasting.
Subject matter expert in software licensing (Microsoft and other major contracts).
Ability to lead, influence and drive financial and contractual efficiencies across multiple contracts and licenses.
Proactive, collaborative approach and ability to work across Trust departments to deliver service improvements.
