Senior Commercial and Legal Manager

as part of their growth plans.This role is designed to take the pressure off the Managing Director by owning key legal, contractual, and risk areas across live engineering projects.You’ll play a critical part in shaping commercial outcomes on multi-million-pound installations, managing project risk, and building scalable systems as the company grows.Key ResponsibilitiesYou’ll take charge of contracts, legal risk, pricing models, and margin protection—working closely with both the project and leadership teams to strengthen commercial performance.Legal and ContractsLead client and supplier contract negotiationsDraft and review bespoke agreements and termsManage legal risk across all stages of engineering deliveryEmbed strong exit strategies into commercial agreementsCommercial OversightDefine commercial processes from quote to final handoverSafeguard margins and build in cost flexibilityGuide pricing strategy and cost trackingDevelop tools for approvals and project variationsProject RiskOwn risk across project lifecycle, especially installationsSupport teams in spotting early commercial or legal risksReview tender documentation and client termsHealth and SafetyOversee internal HandS function (supported by HandS Manager)Ensure compliance and represent the business externallyHR and CultureLiaise with HR advisors on compliance, hiring, and ERManage recruitment across engineering and commercial teamsBusiness ImprovementSupport MD and functional heads on operational changesContribute to new venture launchesImplement tools and systems that support scalabilityWhat You’ll Need:Strong commercial experience in engineering environmentsAbility to manage contract terms and negotiate riskHands-on approach—willing to work closely with project teamsTrack record of guiding contracts from bid to handoverCredibility with technical staff and external clientsProcess mindset and ability to build in structure and controlNice to have:Familiarity with mechanical or modular engineering systemsWhat’s in it for you?This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior role with real influence.
