Job SummaryWe are looking for a passionate, innovative Senior Clinical Lead to deliver patient-centred, high-quality care in secure settings. Job Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.
Deputise on behalf of the Head of Healthcare when required.
Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high quality clinical service for patients. Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
Model a culture of compassion, assurance, respect and empowerment.
You will coach, line manage and develop clinician staff; support and contribute in undertaking audits and governance and contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.
Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry out investigations locally.
To advance innovative ideas and strategies and provide vision and inspiration to enable staff to deliver care more effectively.
To ensure open channels of communication with both internal and external agencies to achieve a co-ordinated service to clients and their families.
To have and further develop a high level of interpersonal and communication skills to deal with a range of highly sensitive and emotive situations.
To develop robust effective communication systems to enable all members of staff to liaise with external organisations/bodies as required.
To develop a communication system that ensures the flow of information to and from relevant meetings and forums.
To utilise all available resources to the maximum benefit of the service, being aware of resource implications specific to the service.
Ensure that agreed DrPA and Centre Operator policies and procedures are followed.
Report any maintenance requirements through the Centre Operator processes.
Ensure that the building is maintained to meet the agreed Health and Safety / Infection Control standards within the prison setting e.g. work with the Head of Healthcare to complete workplace risk assessments.
Qualifications
Professional Registration RGN Nursing and Midwifery Council
Evidence of continued professional development e.g. ANP
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of human resources processes including training and education, recruitment, workforce planning, staff budget management, performance management, union negotiation and disciplinary action
Knowledge of the complexities of multi-disciplinary/multi-agency issues affecting healthcare provision in a secure environment
Knowledge of clinical governance / CQC processes
Knowledge of prison / secure environment healthcare management arrangements
Good interpersonal skills including diplomacy, negotiating, problem solving
Working with multi-cultural and diverse community
Working to deadlines under pressure
Computer literate
Ability to work with and engage service users, carers and advocates to ensure their involvement in services
Ability to manage and deliver new services in a rapidly changing environment
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
The ability to influence people in a positive way
Ability to manage, motivate and develop others to achieve objectives
Ability to build and maintain partnerships, internal and external to the organisation
Ability to work as part of a senior management team
Ability to manage change in a positive and proactive manner
Good problem-solving skills
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
Security Clearances and UK Registration
Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such a submission for Disclosure to the DBS will be required to check for any previous criminal convictions.
This post will require the holder to undertake and successfully complete the Counter Terrorism Clearance (CTC) process.
