We have a permanent Senior Engineer to join our Consulting Highways team. This is a hybrid role with potential for applications from Senior Engineers across the region.The role
Senior Engineers play an important part within the Highways and Designated Funds Design team alongside our client, National Highways. You will provide support to your Design Team Leader on highways schemes, while taking the lead on projects and mentoring junior designers.Responsibilities Include
Lead a team to deliver technically sound engineering solutions that comply with relevant technical standards and client requirements.Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation for scheme deliverables, ensuring quality, cost and programme criteria are met.Oversee junior staff performing similar tasks and take responsibility for their actions.Take responsibility for the commercial success of projects within your portfolio, controlling budgets and costs.Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attend progress meetings and respond to queries.Contribute to bids and the general work-winning function.Drive effective health and safety practices within the team.What You Will Bring To Us
Developed experience and expertise in Highways/Civil engineering, likely in an Engineer role or equivalent.Comprehensive knowledge of design processes and procedures relevant to civil engineering.Ability to produce or oversee technically sound Highways engineering solutions that comply with relevant standards and client requirements.Experience with health, safety and welfare tasks, e.g. Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.Initial professional development leading to Incorporated or Chartered status or equivalent license; ongoing progression toward those statuses.Commitment to achieving professional qualifications (Incorporated or Chartered status or equivalent).Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent learning.EngTech status is desirable, gained through the relevant professional institution.What We Can Offer You
