Our client, a Local Authority based in the North West, is currently recruiting for a Senior Childcare Lawyer to join their busy team on a locum basis for 3 months initially. The role offers remote working with fortnightly attendance required at hearings in the Manchester Courts.Compensation
The rate is in the region of
£55 p/hour UMB .Working arrangements
35 hours per weekMonday – FridayFull-time hours available; part-time and flexible options may be consideredDuties and responsibilities
Managing a complex caseload of public law children matters, including Section 31 care proceedings and Deprivation of Liberty (DoL) applicationsProviding robust advocacy in the Family Court and High Court, including contested hearings and final hearingsDelivering high-quality legal advice and representation to social workers, senior managers, and client departmentsDrafting, reviewing, and presenting legal documentation including care plans, threshold documents, and court applicationsMentoring and supporting junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and best practice across the childcare teamRequirements
