The Role
As a Senior Air Quality Consultant based in Chester, you will:
- Lead air quality assessments across sectors such as waste management, dust management and quarries.
- Analyse data, prepare emissions inventories, and undertake dispersion modelling using industry-standard tools.
- Provide clear, strategic advice to clients on policy, legislation, and best practice.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop practical, sustainable solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior consultants, contributing to a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports and present findings to clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with evolving regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
Essential:
- Degree in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
- 5-7 Years experience as an Air Quality Consultant, Currently operating as a Senior Air Quality Consultant.
- Proficiency with AA Air Quality software or similar modelling tools.
- Solid knowledge of UK air quality regulations and guidance.
- Strong project management skills and experience delivering work to time and budget.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Drivers License
Desirable:
- Membership of IAQM, CIWEM, or similar professional body.
- Postgraduate qualification (MSc/PhD) in Air Quality, Environmental Management, or related discipline.
- Business development or client relationship management experience.
- Familiarity with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects.
