Senior Accountant

About the Role

We are recruiting a Senior Accountant for a friendly, well-established accountancy practice in the Aylesbury area. This is an autonomous role, ideal for someone with solid practice experience who doesn''t need much hand-holding. You''ll manage your own portfolio of clients, including a good number of sole traders, take ownership of statutory accounts work, and act as a technical point of reference for more junior members of the team.

What you''ll be doing
- Managing a varied client portfolio autonomously, including a number of sole traders
- Taking ownership of statutory accounts preparation to a high standard
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team
- Building strong, lasting relationships with clients
- Acting as a technical point of reference within the office
- Managing your own time and workload with minimal supervision

What you''ll bring
- ACA, ACCA, or qualified by experience (QBE)
- Around 5 years'' relevant experience gained within an accountancy practice
- Solid exposure to statutory accounts
- Experience managing sole traders
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff
- A self-starter mentality - comfortable working autonomously

What''s on offer
-35,000 - -45,000 depending on experience, plus a genuinely autonomous role, a supportive team environment, and the scope to make the position your own.
