SEND Teaching Assistant – Burnley, Lancashire

Vision for Education are recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Burnley, Lancashire. This rewarding role is due to start in September 2026 and will continue for the remainder of the 2026/27 academic year, with permanent opportunities available from 2027 for the right person.

The Role

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant in Burnley, Lancashire will provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential within the classroom environment.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant in Burnley, Lancashire, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement individual support strategies, monitor progress and promote positive engagement in learning. The role would suit a compassionate and patient individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEND.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEND Teaching Assistant in Burnley, Lancashire, you will:

  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check registered to the Update Service.
