Supply Desk are seeking a 1:1 primary teaching assistant to work with a child with Autism

Starting: October 2026

Pay: £85-£92

Hours: 08:30 -3:30 Mon-Fri

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic teaching assistant seeking a new role? Do you have experience working with a child with Autism who can become frustrated at his barriers to education?  Can you create trusting and respectful relationships?

This is in a school which is rated  “at the expected standard" by Ofsted  school in the Fareham area. The role would be working 1:1 each day, often adapting resources to suit needs and help regulate emotions.

• 2 form average sized primary school with a strong focus on inclusion   
• Children feel seen, heard and recognised for their uniqueness
• A supportive and experienced SLT
• Ofsted recognised “Good” school

Job Description:

• Working with a Year 3 child
• Working with a child who can become frustrated that they are not understood
• Supporting needs with PECS, zones of regulation, sensory circuits etc
• Long -term contract 
• Pay: Daily Rate (£85-£92)

  • Contract Length: Long-term
  • Hours: full-time

Individual Profile:

• Resilient, empathetic and experienced working with children with additional needs
• Must have good classroom and behaviour management
• Passionate, enthusiastic and proactive individual
• Knowledge of Zones of regulation, sensory ciruits and other regulatory techniques desirable
