SEND Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with complex SEND needs?We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex learning difficulties, autism, non-verbal communication needs, and behaviours that challenge within a specialist educational setting.This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with vulnerable young people, helping them develop independence, communication skills, and confidence in a safe and nurturing environment.The Role:Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of complex SEND requirements.Work with students who are non-verbal and utilise alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, and communication aids.Support pupils with challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.Assist with personal care where required.Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver tailored support plans.Promote a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.The Ideal Candidate:Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).Experienced working with non-verbal individuals and implementing communication strategies.Confident managing behaviours that challenge in a calm, patient, and consistent manner.Resilient, empathetic, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for young ..... full job details .....
