A large 3 form entry school is Southampton is looking for a Year 1 teacher with the qualifications to support as a Part time SENCO.

Supply Desk are working with a welcoming and supportive large infant school in central Southampton. Due to maternity, this school are looking for a Year 1 teacher who can also act as a part time SENCO for the summer term. The school is Ofsted rated andldquo;Goodandrdquo; and can offer a warm and welcoming staff as well as a recently renovated establishment. andnbsp;
About the role:
andnbsp;Key functions of the role:
- To implement and deliver an appropriate, balanced and differentiated curriculum for all pupils incorporating the KS1 National Curriculum
- To facilitate, support and monitor the overall progress and development of all students
- To be able to work as an independent SENCO 3 days a week
- To foster a learning environment which provides pupils with the opportunity to fulfil their individual potential
- To share in the development of the school curriculum, teaching materials, methods of teaching and assessment and review
Responsibilities:
- To teach pupils according to their educational needs, including supporting early development of literacy and maths
- Identify clear teaching objective, play and exploration opportunities
- Setting high expectations of pupilsandrsquo; learning, motivation and awe and wonder
- Setting clear targets for pupilsandrsquo; learning development
- To direct and supervise Teaching Assistants within the classroom
- To cooperate and liaise with other professionals, including colleagues and external agencies
- To set high expectations in terms of behaviour and maintain a good standard of discipline through well focused teaching methods and implementing the school behaviour policy
