SEN Tutor:
Location: Southwark
Pay Rate: -25- 30 per hour
Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | Flexible Hours- choose between morning, noon or evening sessions.
Here at Prospero, we work with local councils to support them in providing tuition for looked after children and/or students with EHCP''s.
We are looking for passionate tutors eager to make a difference - please see below.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 tuition in Functional Skills, Maths, and/or English, adapted to each student''s ability and learning profile.
- Work with learners with a variety of SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, global development delay and communication difficulties.
- Design and deliver individualised lesson plans in line with EHCPs or identified support needs.
- Use a calm, consistent, and encouraging approach to build trust and foster student engagement.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and professionals to ensure consistent and coordinated support.
- Building trust and positive relationships
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational or therapeutic setting.
- Tailor teaching to different levels and learning styles
- Support learners in developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
- Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Experience teaching ESOL to adults or young people
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to adapt lessons to varied learner needs
- Relevant teaching qualification (TESOL/TEFL/PGCE or equivalent
