Learning Support Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Various Schools in Canterbury
Pay Rate: -88 - -90 per day
Are you passionate about supporting students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential? We are looking for dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work across various schools in Canterbury, supporting students with a range of special educational needs.
About the Schools:
Students aged 11 to 19 - mixed gender
Focus on complex needs including Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Asperger''s, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Many students have experienced disrupted or challenging educational journeys and benefit from smaller, more personalised learning environments
Strong emphasis on building confidence, resilience, and responsibility
The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Provide tailored, one-to-one or small-group support to students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Build strong, positive relationships to support students'' academic and emotional development
Support students in understanding and managing their behaviour
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies to create inclusive and supportive learning environments
Help deliver personalised learning programmes to meet individual needs
What We''re Looking For:
Compassionate, adaptable individuals with a genuine passion for supporting young people
Previous experience in education, care, or with children/young people with additional needs (preferred but not essential)
A valid driver''s license and access to a vehicle (essential due to travel between schools)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations

Requirements:
Willingness to travel up to an hour for work
Legal right to work in the UK
Experience with children or young people with special educational needs, especially PMLD, is advantageous
Ability to provide personal care support (toileting, feeding), if required
Clear enhanced DBS (child workforce) on the update service, or willingness to apply
Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach to learning support
