Are you a patient, compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs?
Aspire People are looking to recruit dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support a welcoming specialist education setting in Peterborough, catering for pupils aged 4-19 with severe and complex learning needs, including autism.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with severe learning difficulties, autism and complex additional needs.
- Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging, differentiated and multisensory learning activities.
- Provide individual and small-group support, adapting your approach to each pupil.
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Encourage independence, confidence, social development and essential life skills.
- Assist with personal care and physical needs where required.
- Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Build trusting, professional relationships with pupils and staff.
About You
We would love to hear from candidates who:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ideally within a specialist school or similar setting.
- Understand the needs of pupils with autism, severe learning difficulties or complex communication needs.
- Are calm, patient, resilient and able to respond positively to behaviours that challenge.
- Are flexible, reliable and confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Have excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Are willing to support personal care needs where required.
Experience using communication aids, sensory approaches, Makaton, PECS or positive behaviour support strategies would be advantageous.
We also welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience in care, support work or other SEND environments who are looking to transfer their skills into education.
