You will play a key part in the educational and social development of pupils by offering structured support tailored to their individual learning needs. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals, you will ensure that every child feels valued and supported in a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities of the SEN TA:
- Provide personalised support to students with diverse special educational needs and disabilities, adapting learning activities to meet individual strengths and areas for development.
- Promote inclusion and respect by encouraging positive participation in classroom activities, helping all pupils to feel valued within a supportive and diverse environment.
- Foster independence and confidence by guiding pupils to develop essential life and learning skills, encouraging problem-solving, self-advocacy, and resilience.
- Support well-being and engagement through building trusting relationships, offering emotional encouragement, and creating a joyful, safe learning experience.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider team to implement tailored strategies, contribute to individual learning plans, and celebrate the progress and achievements of every student.
Ideal Candidate Requirements of the SEN TA:
- Experience or strong interest in supporting students with diverse special educational needs and disabilities, with an understanding of inclusive practices.
- Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with pupils, staff, and families, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Commitment to promoting independence, resilience, and well-being, encouraging pupils to achieve their full potential.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside teachers and the wider support team.
- A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach, ensuring every child feels valued, respected, and engaged in joyful learning experiences.
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or SEN-related qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
