Progress Teachers are a leading education staffing agency dedicated to providing long-term and permanent employment across the East and West Midlands. We are looking for a fun and friendly KS3 SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic provision in Lougborough. You will be supporting a group of up to 8 students (aged 11-14) with Complex Social, Emotional and Mental Heath needs, alongside complex Trauma and various learning difficulties. This is a full-time role. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 15:30. Responsibilities Provide support to pupils'' with SEMH and SEND, helping them to engage in learning activities and develop their skills. Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement IEPs (Individualised Education Plans) and assist in adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs. Maintain a positive learning environment, manage behaviour and promote social skills. Observe and assess student performance, document progress and provide feedback to the team to inform future planning and support. Qualifications Experience working with children, particularly those with autism, ADHD, Non-Verbal, Global Development Delay is ideal Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children and collaborate with teaching staff. A proactive attitude towards fostering a positive learning environment. Relevant qualifications in childcare or education would be beneficial but are not mandatory.
