SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Walsall WS5

Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Walsall is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with diagnosed or suspected Autism across KS1. Working within a two-form entry setting, you will provide 1:1 and group support across both Year 1 and Year 2 classes, helping pupils access learning and thrive in the classroom environment.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact, supporting children with additional needs in a structured, nurturing setting alongside a supportive and experienced staff team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils across KS1
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCo
  • Help create a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment


What We''re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with Autism in a school setting
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and behaviour support
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
  • Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent)
