Long Term Futures are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive infant school in Bournville, Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive Key Stage 1 environment, providing tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with complex additional needs as they continue their transition into Year 2.The Role:Supporting a pupil with communication difficulties, including interpreting non-verbal communicationAssisting with emotional regulation using visual timetables, sensory strategies and structured routinesSupporting behaviour management through positive reinforcement and consistent boundariesProviding personal care support where requiredHelping the pupil transition between activities and classroom environmentsWorking collaboratively with the class teacher and SENDCO to adapt activities and monitor progressIdeal Candidate Profile:Experience working within a Primary or SEN schoolConfident supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groupsExperience or understanding of ASD, SEMH, SLCN and additional needsKnowledge of sensory regulation and therapeutic support strategiesUnderstanding of the EYFS ..... full job details .....
