Salary: £93+ per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time

GSL Education Kent are delighted to be supporting a fantastic specialist school in Ashford with the recruitment of a committed SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone with a compassionate nature and a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
In this role, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including autism spectrum conditions, speech and language difficulties, social-emotional needs, and complex learning challenges. Alongside teachers and therapists, you will help provide a secure and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is resilient, empathetic, and passionate about making a meaningful impact on children’s lives.
Key Responsibilities for SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and group support following EHCPs and individual learning plans
- Assist pupils with communication, sensory needs, and emotional regulation
- Support personal care tasks when required
- Promote independence, confidence, and life skills
- Help the class teacher maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Encourage pupil engagement, progress, and well-being
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
- A calm, patient, and understanding approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Ability to follow safeguarding procedures at all times
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
