About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a vital role in supporting students both academically and personally. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the well-being and independence of those in your care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-on-one assistance tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Help students develop essential life and learning skills.
  • Promote participation in social and community-based activities.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating space for learning.

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with SEN, ideally in a school or youth setting is advantageous.
  • A caring, patient, and understanding approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues.
  • A collaborative mindset and a positive attitude.
  • Relevant training or qualifications in SEN support are desirable.

To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education

Please be advised that this role requires strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
