GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work with pupils in a local school in Poole,starting immediately.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with class teachers to deliver personalised support for pupils with special educational needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
• Assist teachers in delivering inclusive lessons tailored to pupil needs.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Prepare classroom resources and assist with lesson planning.
• Encourage independence and confidence in learning.
• Monitor and report on pupil progress to teaching staff.
• Supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes when required.
• Support extracurricular activities and school trips.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to meet pupil needs.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children with special educational needs in a UK school or similar setting.
• A degree in Psychology, SEN, Counselling or a similar field is desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children.
• Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent (desirable).
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
