Salary: andpound;90 andndash; andpound;120 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role:
A welcoming and inclusive school in the Aylesbury area is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The successful candidate will work 1:1 and with small groups to help children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to deliver tailored support
- Support students with Autism and other additional needs in the classroom
- Help implement individual education plans, risk assessments, and support strategies
- Encourage emotional regulation, communication skills, and independent learning
- Build strong relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and outside professionals
- Develop a holistic approach to meeting the studentsandrsquo; needs by delivering on action plans and or strategies which will enable learners to make good progress.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with Autism (ASC) or a strong desire to do so
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, Teaching Assistant, or similar (desirable)
- Knowledge of SEN strategies including TEACCH, PECS, or Team Teach (preferred)
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour management
- Experience supporting emotional, social, or sensory needs (desirable)
- Must hold or be willing to apply for a DBS registered on the update service
