SEN Teaching Assistant - Ramsgate
Academics are currently recruiting for a resilient and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Ramsgate, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role is a full-time role, working 5 days per week, and would suit someone confident working with challenging behaviour and passionate about making a positive impact on young people''s lives.
The Role: SEN Teacing Assistant
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
- Build strong, trusting relationships to support emotional regulation and engagement
- Support the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities
- Use de-escalation techniques and behaviour strategies effectively
- Promote a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Requirements: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH and challenging behaviour
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
- Resilient, patient, and adaptable mindset
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- Relevant experience in roles such as Support Worker, Youth Worker, or Teaching Assistant is highly desirable
