SEN Teaching Assistant

You will work closely with pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex additional needs, providing dedicated 1:1 support and assistance in small groups. You will help pupils access learning, develop communication skills, build confidence, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day.

Salary: -475500 Per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD, complex needs, and communication difficulties.
- Support non-verbal pupils using appropriate communication strategies and a patient, nurturing approach.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible, and differentiated lessons.
- Promote pupils'' independence, confidence, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
- Help maintain a positive, safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and other professionals.
- Adapt support to meet each pupil''s individual learning, communication, and behavioural needs.

- Experienced in supporting children with SEN, particularly non-verbal pupils and children with complex needs.
- Patient, empathetic, nurturing, and calm under pressure.
- Confident in supporting pupils with ASD and communication challenges.
- A strong communicator who works effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, flexible, proactive, and committed to promoting positive outcomes for every pupil.
Previous experience in a specialist school, SEND provision, or a similar setting is highly desirable, alongside a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
