Reeson Education is recruiting for two SEN Teacher positions within a post-16 specialist education setting in Gosport, Hampshire. This SEN Teacher opportunity is for 20 teaching hours per week, term-time only across 39 weeks, supporting young people with a range of special educational needs through personalised, appropriately differentiated learning. The SEN Teacher will work with students studying from Pre-Entry through to Level 1, helping them make meaningful academic and personal progress.

What the SEN Teacher Will Be Doing

The SEN Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning for students with a range of SEND.

Teach students working across Pre-Entry, Entry Level and Level 1, adapting teaching to individual starting points and needs.

The SEN Teacher will contribute to accredited and non-accredited programmes and may deliver Functional Skills in Maths or English depending on experience.

Work with students who may have needs including autism, ADHD, PMLD, SLD, MLD, global developmental delay and other associated learning needs.

The SEN Teacher will use EHCPs to inform teaching, support individual outcomes and contribute towards Annual Reviews.

Monitor and record students'' academic and personal progress using appropriate assessment strategies.

The SEN Teacher will create structured learning that supports communication, engagement and growing independence.

Work effectively with Learning Support Assistants, ensuring classroom support is planned and used appropriately.

The SEN Teacher will maintain communication with parents, guardians and other professionals involved in student progress.

Contribute to curriculum planning, quality assurance and the continued development of SEND provision.

What We''re Looking For in a SEN Teacher

A degree and postgraduate teaching qualification.

Strong experience as a SEN Teacher or substantial teaching experience supporting young people with SEND.

Experience teaching specialist SEND curricula across Entry Level to Level 1 is highly relevant.

Good working knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans and how they inform teaching and student progression.

Ability to plan and differentiate lessons appropriately for learners working at different developmental and academic levels.

Strong assessment skills with the ability to use evidence of progress to shape future teaching.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Sound understanding of safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.

A resilient, organised and student-centred approach.

Compliance Requirements

Successful applicants for this SEN Teacher opportunity will need:

Enhanced DBS including the children''s barred list, either dated within the last three months or registered on the Update Service.

Two satisfactory references.
