Your Role as an SEN Teacher

As an SEN Teacher, you will teach pupils with additional learning needs in a setting matched to your experience. The pupil profile and curriculum will be discussed before placement.

• Plan adapted lessons with objectives that reflect pupils'' learning and communication needs.
• Translate relevant EHCP outcomes into purposeful activities and manageable next steps.
• Coordinate support staff and use consistent routines to support engagement and wellbeing.
• Assess progress, adjust teaching and work with families and specialist colleagues as appropriate.

What We Are Looking For in an SEN Teacher

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification and relevant SEND teaching experience.
• An SEN Teacher who can adapt curriculum content and lead classroom support effectively.
• Confidence using individual assessment and following safeguarding and behaviour support procedures.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one, alongside satisfactory safeguarding checks.
