SEN Teacher (Northumberland) Primary School

We are looking for a SEN Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Northumberland, supporting pupils within the school''s specialist SEMH provision.

This is to support 7 students across years 2-4.

This role would suit an experienced SEN teacher or a primary teacher with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs or has experience with SEMH.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons within the SEMH provision.
• Adapt teaching and learning to meet individual pupils'' academic, social and emotional needs.
• Establish positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Provide clear routines, structure and consistent boundaries.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Have experience of, or a strong interest in, working with children with SEN and/or SEMH.
• Be nurturing, patient, calm and consistent.
• Have high expectations while recognising individual barriers to learning.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service

Experience within SEMH, specialist provision, nurture settings, alternative provision or supporting children with complex behavioural and emotional needs would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
