Academics is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive SEN school in East Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with a range of additional needs while working as part of a committed and experienced team.

The Role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
• Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning needs.
• Encourage pupils'' independence, confidence and social development.
• Help create a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 months'' experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs within a UK school, SEN setting or similar educational environment.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A patient, resilient and positive approach.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
