SEN Teaching Assistant - Eastbourne

Academics are recruiting on behalf of a supportive Primary School in Eastbourne who are looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with additional needs who has an EHCP, helping them to engage with their learning and feel confident and supported throughout the school day.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with children and wants to make a genuine difference to a pupil''s progress and wellbeing.

• Providing consistent 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with SEN
• Helping the pupil access and engage with classroom learning
• Supporting their emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence
• Following strategies and recommendations outlined within the pupil''s EHCP
• Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to provide effective support
• Encouraging positive behaviour and creating a calm, inclusive environment
• Monitoring progress and communicating effectively with the wider school team

• Has at least 6 months'' experience working with primary-aged children
• Has previous experience supporting children with SEN
• Is patient, compassionate and understanding
• Can build a trusting relationship with a child and provide consistent support
• Is confident working as part of a wider school team
• Is reliable, proactive and passionate about working in education
