Academics are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil within a welcoming primary school in Eastbourne.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with a strong background in SEN who is passionate about making a positive difference to a child''s education and development.

Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team, you will provide tailored 1:1 support to help the pupil access learning, develop their confidence and thrive within the school environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Supporting the pupil to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities
• Developing positive and trusting relationships with the pupil
• Supporting their social, emotional and academic development
• Helping to manage behaviour and implement individual support strategies
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Encouraging independence and confidence
• Providing a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:

• Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
• Have experience providing 1:1 support or working in a similar support role
• Have a patient, calm and nurturing approach
• Be confident supporting pupils with additional needs
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Be committed to helping children achieve their full potential
• Have a genuine passion for working within education and supporting SEN pupils

Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Global Developmental Delay or other additional needs would be advantageous.
